Anna Richardson’s E-Portfolio

My Teaching Philosophy

Hi, I’m Anna Beth Richardson, a senior education major at Hollins University, excited to begin my career in education. I believe every child deserves a safe, joyful, and engaging learning environment where they feel seen, supported, and encouraged to grow. During my student teaching and coursework, I’ve developed a strong foundation in creating hands-on, inclusive lessons that spark curiosity and meet diverse learning needs. This ePortfolio showcases my growth as an educator through lesson plans, student work samples, and reflections tied to the InTASC standards. You can read my full teaching philosophy here to learn more about the values that guide my approach to teaching.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy horseback riding, doing creative projects, and spending time with my pets—I have three fish, a guinea pig, and a dog! I also love getting outdoors for hikes and walks, especially when the weather is nice. I work as a preschool teacher and childcare provider, a role that has deepened my passion for early childhood education. When I’m not working or creating, I love spending quality time with my family and my fiancé, who have always supported my journey as an educator. These relationships and experiences help me bring warmth, creativity, and a strong sense of care into everything I do—both in and out of the classroom.
